Michael and Peter Delbridge, started messing about in boats at an early age. Michael Delbridge Both Peter and I have both grown up around the sea and around boats, and we love it! Starting with dinghy sailing at an early age we both progressed to windsurfing to a very good standard, often racing each other all day long. Other passionate activities include water-skiing and scuba diving. My yacht sailing experience includes a number of UK and Mediterranean charters in boats typically between 40 and 50 feet. I currently own a 7.5 meter diesel RIB which I keep moored near my house in Ocean Village, Southampton. This is the ideal performance boat for the Solent and it allows us to inspect potential boats to sell quickly and cheaply. Boatshed Hamble is a new venture for Peter and I, but with our enthusiasm and passion for all things boats, we are extremely confident that we will be bringing a whole new improved level of service to all local boat owners. Peter Delbridge Born and bred in Southampton and been on the water all my life since in all types of craft. Became an RYA Advanced Power Boat Instructor, Windsurfing Instructor and Personal Watercraft Instructor, whilst studying for a degree in Marine Leisure Management at Southampton Institute (School of Navigation, Warsash). 1996 was support crew for Heath Insured II, The BT Challenge Race, and at the last minute jumped aboard as crew to sail the first leg from Southampton to Rio De Janeiro. Worked for Marine Glass Maintenance, the specialist marine access company, absailing down the side of liners such as QE2/Canberra, cleaning windows. Went on to be project manager with Marshall International Marine Ltd, building marinas and supplying pontoons, Mylor Yacht Harbour, Falmouth. Also an avid mountaineer and rock climber, having climbed in the UK, Alps, Ireland, Corsica and Australia. Married to Clare who is also an RYA Powerboat and Dinghy Instructor, who was also the first woman in the UK to become a coxswain on the ABP Pilot boats, later worked at the vessel control centre, Southampton controlling all the Solent traffic. Their daughter Isabelle, was born in 2002 and has already been out boating throughout the past year. |
