About Nic Parton
I started working with Boatshed Hamble in June 2019.
What did you do before working with Boatshed?
I have worked in the marine industry for over 25 years - boats have been a lifelong passion and I have been lucky enough to build a professional career working in and around them. After youth sailing dinghies on reservoirs in landlocked Sutton Coldfield and then taking seasonal jobs teaching sailing, it was only natural that following university I started a career in the marine industry.
My roles have included being operations manager for Britannia Sailing and Sunsail in the UK, Greece and the British Virgin Islands. I also managed Howth Yacht Club and Marina in Dublin and then moved back to the UK as Senior Marina Manager with MDL responsible for three high profile marinas on the Hamble River.
What attracted you to become part of the Boatshed team?
I love the flexibility of working with Boatshed and learning more about boats.
Are you a motorboater or a sailor?
I currently live locally to Hamble with my wife and two daughters and we all enjoy time out on the water in this beautiful part of the world, so anything that gets me out on the water!
What is your most memorable boating experience?
Too many to mention but most were while living and sailing in the British Virgin islands.
