Working in conjunction with Boatshed Portsmouth, Commodore Yachting is one of the first sailing school and charter companies to enable its customers to seamlessly move from learning to sail and chartering, to boat ownership.

So; this weekend sees the annual J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club. The small town of Cowes is expecting over 1,700 boats for the event taking place on the Solent on Saturday 1st June 2013. With around 16,000 sailors taking part it is one of the largest yacht races in the world.

Saturday 25th August saw the 142nd Swanwick, Bursledon and Warsash Regatta held on the river Hamble get off to a great start, with dry weather, an afternoon high tide and crowds and crowds of sailors, local families all helping to make it a great day.
I love these local summer events, it does not matter where you are around our fantastic coastline but at some point during the year the local community gets together to raise money for local charities or just to celebrate local boating.
