Broker's Comments

This very successful local race boat is still winning Regattas and is a great way to get on the local circuit competitively and for the very reasonable cost of only 80,000 Australian Dollars. She ran up on the beach in a big storm at Kata Beach at the end of Kings Cup some years ago, sustaining some frame loosening that was professionally repaired by Latitude 8 in Phuket. We have the surveyor's report and details of repair.

The owner says:

"She was washed ashore in the famous storm. They got a bow anchor in place before the tide went out, holding the bow into the waves, and she settled upright in the sand with the keel dug in. Lots of other boats were washed onto their sides, filled with sand or were broken up. Fortunately by getting the anchor in place she stayed upright and slowly dug the keel into the sand vertically.

They got a crane on to the beach immediately, lifted out the rig. Got a digger to dig a hole further up the beach and lifted her into this hole. (A sort of cradle)

The day after they got a truck onto the beach and transported her.

A quick and elegant rescue. The boat stayed dry, and the loose framing issue has been sorted as you know."

"Basically the hull itself was fine. There was an issue with trapped water (in the funny double skin in these Beneteaus) - this has all been fixed.

The problem was framing that had come loose. Beneteau do not glass in framing they simple glue it.

Mark at Latitude Marine fixed it all - see previous e-mails i sent

He did not follow the Surveyors methodology which was very complex to do, and simply put the boat in the water to get all the frames bedded and in place and glassed it all in.

She is very solid and has done many miles since this work (3 times to Pattaya) - 2 Neptune Regattas - 3 Raja Mudas so she has been moving around and on the move.

There is no sign of any flexing, leaks or anything else"

Australian flagged but not tax paid.
